American Legion New Hampshire Boys State is open to young men who have completed their junior year of high school and who are ready to enter the senior class in the fall.  Applicants who meet the following criteria will be selected:

  • Attends a New Hampshire high school or is a resident of the State of New Hampshire;

  • Scholastic average should be an 80 or better;

  • Must be of good character and in good health;

  • Should demonstrate qualities of leadership, character and good citizenship; and

  • Must submit a draft bill or resolution with application.

There is no limit on the number of qualified candidates who may attend from a particular high school.  Home-school students may attend, provided that they meet the eligibility requirements.

The only costs that an individual student must bear for American Legion New Hampshire Boys State are his non-refundable $25.00 application fee, transportation to and from Saint Anselm College, and any desired incidentals during the week.

Community sponsors and American Legion posts pay the remaining $335.00 in tuition, which covers room, board, snacks, materials, the costs of instruction, and all in-program transportation from the point of registration to graduation.
